Joy Hall

Cellist, Ceramist, Painter, Instructor, Editor

Joy Hall performed as a professional cellist for over 50 years. Her collection of work includes dozens of recordings for labels such as RCA and Columbia Records, as well as a substantial contribution to radio and television broadcasts for the BBC. One of the leading cello continuo players of her day, she has shared the stage with many contemporary talents including Raymond Leppard, Janet Baker, and Julian Bream.

Hall's credits include more than 30 years of broadcasts at the BBC, as well as studio and live performances with both classical and popular music groups, from the English Chamber Orchestra to The Beatles and Paul McCartney.

From Performance to Painting

Joy Hall continued to harness her love of art after music, transforming many themes into beautifully impressionist landscapes. Her work has been featured in various exhibitions and reported on in publications, such as West Country Life.
